 In 1921, the then-United States Army Air Service embarked on a grand experiment to add airships to the fleet. When the experiment failed in a fiery disaster that claimed the lives of 34 servicemen, the event was soon forgotten. Join author & historian Nancy E. Sheppard to rediscover this lost local tragedy. Books will be available for sale after the program.

Nancy E. Sheppard is a local author and historian. She has written two books: The Airship ROMA Disaster in Hampton Roads (2016) and Hampton Roads Murder & Mayhem (2018).
