Event Type: Adult Program Age Group(s): Adult, Teen Date: 6/3/2017 Start Time: 10:00 AM End Time: 12:00 PM Description: Join Joslyn Robinson for a workshop on the dark side of writing. With an understanding of Carl Jung’s Shadow Archetype, the writer can access tremendous creative power and truth in character, conflict and content. Often, we writers are too “nice” in our writing. The results are often bland, boring, and downright untruthful characters, conflict and story. In this two hour workshop, we will explore the concept of Jung’s Shadow with examples of how the archetype manifests, of how it is effectively used in various genre, and of how we might develop character, conflict and content that is not only effective, but beautifully flawed. Whether you are writing comedy or tragedy, Shadow content is necessary for a good story. Welcome to the Dark Side of the Force!
