Learn more about suffrage in America and the importance of the right to vote with representatives from the League of Women Voters of Williamsburg Area. A voter registration drive will follow the presentation and discussion.

The League of Women Voters is a nationwide nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government at all levels. We advocate in state and local government on issues we have studied, and promote civic education. Then, the Suffragists went to jail. Now, we go to the polls! The local Williamsburg League has been educating voters and studying issues for over 50 years. For more information, visit www.lwvwilliamsburg.org.

This event is part of the Virginia Women in History Exhibit, a traveling exhibit on loan from the Library of Virginia that will be open for viewing at the Tabb Library from Sept. 20 through Oct. 22.
