Sure, school is cool. But, you know what is really cool, Centennial Park Library's Beyond the Classroom. If you are a third, fourth or fifth grader who does not have school on Friday afternoons, please join us weekly for an array of activities providing opportunity for students to connect, explore, and discover in a non-traditional forum. These weekly interactive, enrichment experiences for elementary kids are ideal for Frontier Elementary students, home-schoolers, on-line academy youth as well as other interested kids who are available on Friday afternoons. A different topic will be presented weekly. Registration is required. This week: I can talk with my hands?: An introduction to American Sign Language. All you need is your hands and an excitement to learn! This first session will cover signs in American Sign Language associated with family members, animals, colors, simple greetings, and individual letters and numbers. You will also be learning about deaf culture and making a sign language themed craft.
