Centennial Park Meeting Room

Event Details

Sure, school is cool. But, you know what is really cool, Centennial Park Library's Beyond the Classroom. If you are a third, fourth or fifth grader who does not have school on Friday afternoons, please join us weekly for an array of activities providing opportunity for students to connect, explore, and discover in a non-traditional forum. These weekly interactive, enrichment experiences for elementary kids are ideal for Frontier Elementary students, home-schoolers, on-line academy youth as well as other interested kids who are available on Friday afternoons. A different topic will be presented weekly. Registration is required. Help us kick-off the Beyond the Classroom series with some high-flying, foot-stomping fun. Students will brainstorm to assemble launch pads from a collection of common household materials, then design, construct, and test-fly paper rockets of their own design. Investigation concepts include: Newton’s Laws of Motion and the Four Forces of Flight. All materials provided. This activity appropriate for youth in 3rd-5th grade.
