Event Details

High Plains Library District and Grand Lake's 16th St. Tavern are bringing you a new kind of book club. It's unpretentious, unconcerned whether you've been in a book club before, and it's the perfect way to do a little reading and a little beer tasting. Come on in, get yourself a pint, maybe some food, and talk about some great books. All are welcome! Whether you never read the book, got bored halfway through, finished it in your car outside ten minutes ago, we want you here! Here’s the lineup: July: "It" by Stephen King: Whether you’ve been meaning to read it or it’s haunted your dreams since you were 12, "It" is coming to TV (again), and this is your last shot to read it before you see it. August: "Grunt" by Mary Roach: Ever wondered about the science behind keeping soldiers in action? Especially the science behind the blood, sweat, and many other bodily fluids at play? September: "The Outsiders" by SE Hinton: It’s September, it’s back to school, and what better way to get started than this classic? Stay Gold. October: "The Sisters Brothers" by Patrick deWitt: imagine a little bit of True Grit mixed with some extra humor, plus a good old-fashioned gold panning scheme. Throw it all together and you’ll start to get the idea. Stop by the Farr Regional Library or Grand Lakes (915 16th Street, Greeley) to get your copy of this month’s book!
