Erie Community Library - Erie

Event Details

Join us to hear true stories about people and events that are part of the fabric of Colorado history. Meet people who you may be surprised had any connection to Colorado, like P.T. Barnum (the Circus man), and native-daughter Antoinette Perry (the namesake for the Broadway Tony Awards), as well as famous characters like Buffalo Bill Cody and the tragic Baby Doe Tabor. Events that were part of Colorado's ancient beginnings such as the Great Sand Dunes, and the early native American Indian's fantastic cliff dwellings at Mesa Verde, are also portrayed. Jan Elizabeth Murphy is author of the books, "Outlaw Tales of Colorado," and "Myths and Legends of Colorado," featuring true stories of adventures in Colorado history. She taught classes about Colorado for 6 years at the Lockheed Martin Evening Institute. Jan is currently on the board of directors for the Jefferson County Historical Society.
