The African-American Essay Contest

 Is there a current African-American leader in the community that inspires you and others? Write a paper about him or her for a chance to win a prize: $75 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place.

Rules: Subject must be a local African-American individual. You must write about who they are, why you chose them, and what your subject has accomplished. Person may be a business professional, pastor, volunteer, community organizer, or family member. Paper should be no more than 3 pages, no less than 1 full page. Grammar, concision, structure and mechanics will all be considered when judging each paper. Most important, however, will be content and the thought put in to it! Ages 13-19 are eligible. One submission per person; once submitted cannot resubmit. Paper must be typed and properly formatted and references must be sited. ALL submissions due by February 10, 2014. Good luck!
