Let's Talk About It: Muslim Journeys

Event Type: Adult Programs
Age Group(s): Adult
Date: 10/29/2013
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:30 PM
The theme of this program introduces a way of understanding the past in which Islam and the West are seen as products of a shared, cosmopolitan, and inextricably intertwined past. The books discussed at each event help envision the world of our ancestors, which was as complex and dynamically interconnected as the world we live in today.

At this event, enjoy a book with a scholar-led public discussion & panel discussion program based on: ‘The Ornament of the World’ by Maria Rosa Menocal.

OPL is one of 125 libraries and state humanities councils nationwide receiving grants to host this series, which is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
