Celebrate Women’s History Month with an afternoon of engaging speakers, great poetry, live music and refreshments. The celebration will be held on March 10, 2-4 pm at W. Dale Clark Main Library, 4th floor, 215 S. 15th St. Omaha Public Library and University of Nebraska at Omaha will present “From Home Ec to Medicine.” The program will feature Deborah Perry, M.D., Medical Director, Children's Pathology, Children's Hospital & Medical Center, Staff Pathologist, Methodist and Women's hospitals, who will discuss women’s role in the history of medicine and what the future holds for female physicians. Poets from “Celebrate XVII,” a publication by and about local women, will present their works. Adult winners from UNO’s “Poetry Across the Generation” contest will also read their prize-winning poetry. The poetry books will be available for purchase.
