Who would want to serve on a volunteer board anyway? What do board officers do? What about committees? Board members: How to recruit good ones, how to keep them How to tiptoe when a difficult board member situation arises Honestly, what IS the job of a board member anyway? What is their relationship with the staff? Communication: How to keep the Board informed and engaged, not to mention Proud and Happy! In good times or in bad times, who is the spokesperson for the Library? Keeping the lines of communication open How to handle complaints In general, we will discuss strategies to keep the Director and Board happy. Staff members too! (magic bullets will be distributed at the end of the session) Sunshine Law informational sessions provided by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office include a general overview of the Ohio Public Records Act and the Ohio Open Meetings Act. The sessions are provided in order to enhance the knowledge of public offices regarding the duty to comply with the sunshine laws as required by Sections 149.43 and 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
