This session is designed as an introduction to the basics of copyright law, the parts of copyright that most affect libraries, and related issues like Digital Rights Management (DRM). We will have discussions and activities to help everyone begin to answer difficult questions like, what can be copyrighted and for how long, what can I use without getting permission, how do libraries even lend books under copyright (and other exemptions that let us do our jobs).
