 Enjoy pizza, share your thoughts about specific art pieces and create your own masterpiece with art supplies provided! Celebrate historical works of art through replicas from the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.

On Tuesday November 3, 2009 at 4:30 pm we will be discussing Painting the Portrait of Mah-to-toh-pa, by George Catlin (1796-1872) and Black Hawk's “Sans Arc Lakota” (c. 1832-1890). Explore the lives of American Indians and Frontier Cultures through these works. To see the replicas in person and write down your thoughts in preparation for the program please see the East County Regional Library’s Young Adult Area.

The program content is provided by the National Endowment for the Humanities and presented by Cameo Hinman. Art supplies are provided by the Friends of the East County Regional Library. Grades 6–12. Registration required.
