Second Annual Edible Book FestLibrary: South Community Library
Who: Whether youíre a professional chef or just like to play with your food, the fest is open to anyone.
What: Participants create a book-related dish or dessert inspired by a favorite tale, a pun on a book title, or in the shape of a book (or scroll, or tablet, etc.). For example, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss could be fashioned by eggs dyed green and pieces of ham. Participants may choose to display the book that inspired their entry.
Entries must be 100% edible and it must relate to books in either shape or theme. Entries are due by Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
Donít want to enter? Not a problem. You may stop by the South Community Library and vote for your favorite and enjoy one of the class demonstrations.
Schedule for the Day:
11 am - 12:30 pm Participants drop off edible entries
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Judging and photography
1 pm - 2:30 pm Public voting for Patrons' Choice Award, candy bracelet construction and hat decorating
1 pm - 2:30 pm Class Demonstrations
1 pm - 2:30 pm Crafts for Kids
2:45 pm Welcome, judge's commentary and awards
*Entries will not be eaten.
