Welcome to the Word Bites Teen Summer Reading Program Home Page.

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Like flowers, but don't really like digging and planting? Know a field that could use some brightening up? Or maybe even your own yard? Try bombing it! Seed bombing that is. These clever little balls of clay and dirt hide secret seeds that are just waiting to be tossed in the yard. Materials will be provided for this hands-on workshop.

If you’re 12-19 years old, and still in high school, this Summer Library Club is for you! Read, or listen, and win! You may use any paper book, e-book, audiobook, or graphic novel you like! The rules are simple. During the program, check out materials from your local library, read them, then fill out a paper entry form or log your entries on line at KCPL’s website under Word Bites. Once you've logged seven entries you'll earn your choice of an ear bud splitter/stand or a pair of KCPL retractable ear buds! Everyone who completes the program wins! But wait, there’s more! Keep reading and have a chance to keep winning! Three people from each location who read the most books will receive a sling backpack with attached cell phone holder. One lucky reader will win an iPod Nano. Check out the KCPL webpage for more information http://kanawhalibrary.org/ or our Teen Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KCPLTeenSvcs. And don’t forget to “Like” our page to keep up on “Word Bites” events, as well as other teen activities.
